Council of Jewish Communities of Latvia on July 4th at 12:00 invites to participate in the central event of the Day of Commemoration of victims of genocide against the Jews in Latvia – the mourning ceremony at the site of the burnt Great synagogue in Riga, Gogola street 25.
The event is attended by the President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis, other officials and the diplomatic corps.
At 13:30 the Embassy of Hungary invites to the Old Jewish Cemetery (corner of Ebreju str. and Lomonosova str.) to take part in the inauguration of the sculpture paying tribute to 4000-5000 Hungarian Jewish women, who were deported to Latvia, killed or perished here during the Nazi occupation in 1944.
