We all mourn the murder of eleven innocent people shot by a hate-filled gunman who burst into Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Or L’Simcha Congregation last Shabbat morning. What we need now is to express unity rather than depression or despair. That is why the American Jewish Committee (AJC) encourages Jewish communities to flock to synagogues this coming Shabbat.
Council of Jewish Communities of Latvia and Riga Jewish Religious Community invite you to come to Shabbat services at Riga Synagogue, Peitavas 6/8, on Friday, November 2, at 16.30 and honor the memory of the people who were killed just because they were Jewish.
“This weekend, I will #ShowUpForShabbat. I encourage all members of the Jewish community and all people of conscience to join me,” said AJC CEO David Harris. “What could be a more fitting response to the terror in Pittsburgh? We are not afraid. We are not going to think twice about affirming our identity and faith. We are not alone.”
